The Whitman County Humane Society in Pullman, Washington is seeking a customer-service oriented, self-starter with two years of management or supervisory experience in an animal shelter, humane organization, animal care facility, or similar business to oversee the daily operations of our no-kill pet shelter.
Duties include overseeing animal care, on-site animal receiving and adoptions, fostering, and volunteer programs, and staff training and supervision. Requirements include: Excellent assessment skills in the areas of animal health and behavior; knowledge of successful pet adoption strategies; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with the public, staff, veterinary staff, volunteers, and donors; and demonstrated supervisory knowledge, including skill in mediating disputes, and an ability to train and effectively direct the activities of a diverse group of individuals.
